Electronic Engineering Technology Lecturer

About the role

H. Lavity Stoutt Community College is seeking an exceptional Virgin Islander or Belonger to fill a full-time Lecturer position in the Technical and Vocational Education Department. The lecturer delivers both the theory and practical parts of their assigned courses, including electronic circuits, analog devices, marine electrical systems and power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Teach five courses (15-17 credit hours) per semester, including day, evening, weekend and online courses at the assigned campus or centre, possibly at more than one location.
• Develop innovative course syllabi aligned with current industry trends and provide a quality learning experience.
• Perform instructional duties in line with the College's mission, vision, policies and procedures.
• Serve as an academic advisor to students.
• Coordinate internships and other student programmes.
• Work with external institutions and the wider community to support research, teaching and the campus' strategic goals.
• Help market the Department's programmes and recruit students.
• Participate actively in Department or College committees.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in the subject area from an accredited or recognized university.
• Electronic Engineering Technology or relevant industry certification.
• At least three years of tertiary-level teaching experience; prior vocational institute experience is an asset.
• Virgin Islander or Belonger status.

• Innovative pedagogy in face-to-face and online settings.

What we offer

• Salary of $55,438.33, with the first $10,000 tax-exempted and 8% tax thereafter.
• 8% gratuity on successful completion of the contract.
