Director of International Tax Authority

About the role

The International Tax Authority (ITA) seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Director, guiding the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring compliance with global tax standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of international tax policies, translating obligations and board priorities into actionable outcomes.
• Represent the Virgin Islands in regional and international forums, building relationships with tax authorities and advancing the jurisdiction’s interests.
• Oversee compliance and enforcement functions, ensuring timely responses to assistance requests and managing tax‑evasion risks.
• Manage the ITA’s annual budget, resource allocation, and operational performance to achieve fiscal compliance and governance standards.
• Provide visionary leadership, set clear objectives, and foster a high‑performing, accountable team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Law, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in law, international tax matters or financial services, with 3‑5 years in senior management or executive leadership.
• Demonstrated strategic vision, sound judgement, integrity and strong stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of international tax standards (EOI, AEO/FATCA, CRS, BEPS, economic substance requirements).
• Leadership and statutory management experience in regulatory or government environments.
