Deputy Director

About the role

The International Tax Authority (ITA) in the Virgin Islands seeks a Deputy Director to support the Director in leading the Authority, overseeing corporate operations and ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered. This senior executive position offers the chance to shape international tax policy and strengthen the Territory’s reputation as a trusted financial centre.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director in strategic leadership, policy development and implementation of Board‑approved priorities.
• Provide executive oversight of corporate operations, governance, risk management and business continuity.
• Represent the Authority at local, regional and international forums, building relationships with stakeholders.
• Oversee financial management, resource allocation and operational performance.
• Lead, coach and develop managers and staff, promoting a high‑performing, accountable culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Business Administration, Law, Economics, Social/Political Science or related field; postgraduate qualification is an asset.
• Significant senior leadership experience in international tax, financial services regulation, compliance or public administration.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage organizational change and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of strategic planning, corporate governance, risk management and public sector accountability.
