Regulator II – Authorisation

About the role

The BVI Financial Services Commission is seeking a motivated financial services professional to join its Authorisation and Supervision Division as Regulator II – Authorisation. The role involves ensuring applicants meet regulatory requirements, processing post‑licensing applications, and monitoring existing licensees for compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing supervision and monitoring of regulated entities using the Commission’s Risk Assessment Framework.
• Perform risk assessments and ensure authorisation service standards are met.
• Assess and analyse authorisation data and licensing applications.
• Participate in inspections, draft reports, and identify emerging trends.
• Prepare letters, memoranda, and decision papers for statutory committees and the FSC Board.
• Respond to queries from overseas regulators and represent the Commission at conferences.
• Carry out regulatory inquiries and assist in drafting responses to competent authorities.
• Support compliance with international standards (IOSCO, Basel, FATF, etc.) and undertake ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or related field with at least four years’ experience, or an associate degree with six years’ experience.
• Professional qualifications in AML/CFT, fraud prevention, regulation or supervision are a plus.
• Strong analytical capabilities, ability to meet service standards, and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
