About the role
The BVI Financial Services Commission is seeking a motivated professional to join its Compliance Inspection Unit as a Regulator I. The role involves conducting AML/CFT and prudential inspections, supporting risk assessments and contributing to regulatory oversight across financial sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and apply the Commission’s Risk Assessment Framework for CIU activities.
- Plan, conduct and report on full‑scope and thematic compliance inspections.
- Analyse inspection data, identify contraventions and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
- Draft papers, letters and decision documents for statutory committees and the FSC Board.
- Represent the Commission at local and overseas conferences and undertake ad‑hoc projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or related field, or an associate degree with 2 years relevant experience.
- Professional qualifications in Anti‑Money Laundering, fraud prevention or regulatory supervision are a plus.
- Knowledge of domestic AML legislation and international supervisory standards (e.g., IOSCO, Basel, FATF).
- Strong analytical, communication and confidentiality skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and data analysis.
