Cybersecurity Officer

About the role

The Cybersecurity Officer safeguards the Corporation's systems, networks and data by protecting their confidentiality, integrity and availability. The role identifies and mitigates cybersecurity risks, ensures compliance with relevant standards and policies, and supports the Corporation's cybersecurity strategy through security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, user awareness and the administration of security technologies. It is primarily an office-based position within the Information Technology Department.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage access privileges and support the implementation of security technologies
• Carry out cybersecurity risk assessments and help develop strategies to reduce the impact of cyber threats
• Identify, evaluate and remediate vulnerabilities affecting information assets and infrastructure
• Analyse systems, processes and security controls and recommend mitigation measures
• Coordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and the remediation of weaknesses
• Monitor networks, systems, infrastructure and security tools via alerts, logs, traffic patterns and user activity
• Collaborate with IT staff, administrators, technicians, vendors and end users to prevent cyber-attacks, malware and unauthorized access
• Administer, configure, maintain and monitor firewalls, endpoint protection, security monitoring tools and AI-based security systems
• Audit hardware, software and system configurations for compliance with security policies and regulations, including payment card processing standards
• Assist in investigating incidents and breaches and support incident response and recovery
• Prepare security reports, risk assessments and presentations, and help develop cybersecurity policies and controls
• Travel to sister islands as required

Required profile

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field
• 2 to 3 years of professional experience in an IT-related role
• Experience supporting, administering or maintaining information systems, networks or technology infrastructure
